[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 대구 중구(구청장 류규하)는 북성로 공구골목 및 대봉동 인근에 아파트 주택건설 사업과 연계하여 공영주차장 2개소 조성을 완료하고 2월 중 운영 할 예정이다.
중구는 도심 특성상 관광지 및 상점가 등을 이용하거나 업무시설이 밀집되어 있어 유동인구의 비율이 높고, 재개발 및 재건축 사업이 활발히 진행되어 거주인구의 증가도 뚜렷하게 나타나고 있어 날로 심각해지고 있는 주차 문제가 큰 화두였다.
주차문제 해소를 위하여 주차시설 확충에 노력해왔으나 급증하는 주차 수요를 감당하지 못하고 있는 현실이며, 토지 소유자의 희망 매도액이 높아 공영주차장 부지확보에 다소 어려움이 있었다.
이러한 주차난에 대처하기 위해 활발히 진행되고 있는 주택건설 사업과 연계하여 일정 부지에 주차장을 조성 후 무상귀속과 기부채납하는 방식으로 진행해 왔다.
북성로 공구골목과 대봉2동 일원의 주차난 해소에 기여하는 태평로3가 부지에 주차대수 123면(철골자주식 3단4층)과, 대봉동 부지에 주차대수 20면(자주식)을 조성하였으며, 2월 중 민간위탁방식으로 운영될 예정이다.
만성적인 주차난을 해소하고 안정적인 주차편의를 제공하여 쾌적한 도시 환경에도 기여할 것으로 보인다.
류규하 중구청장은 “이처럼 주민들의 숙원인 주차공간 확보가 큰 재원의 소모와 부지 확보에 대한 부담 없이 이루어질 수 있어서 기쁘며, 앞으로도 중구 관내 공영주차장을 더욱 확충하여 주민이 만족하고 이용할 수 있는 주차환경 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 했다.
Daegu Jung-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyu-ha) has completed the construction of two public parking lots in connection with an apartment house construction project near Bukseong-ro Tool Alley and Daebong-dong and plans to operate them in February.
Due to the nature of the city center, Jung-gu has a high proportion of people using tourist attractions and shopping districts and dense business facilities, and the increase in the number of residents due to active redevelopment and reconstruction projects has been a major topic of discussion.
To solve the parking problem, efforts have been made to expand parking facilities, but they are not able to handle the rapidly increasing demand for parking, and there have been some difficulties in securing public parking lots due to the high selling price of landowners.
In order to cope with this parking shortage, we have been building a parking lot on a certain site in conjunction with an active housing construction project, and then donating and paying for it for free.
123 parking spaces (3 floors of steel frame stocks) and 20 parking spaces (self-parking) were built on the site of Tae Pyeong-ro 3-ga, which contributes to solving parking difficulties in Bukseong-ro Tool Alley and Daebong 2-dong, and will be operated as a private consignment method in February.
It is expected to contribute to a pleasant urban environment by resolving chronic parking difficulties and providing stable parking convenience.
Ryu Kyu-ha, Mayor of Jung-gu Office, said, "I am glad that securing parking spaces, which is a long-standing need of residents, can be done without consuming large financial resources and the burden of securing a site, and we will do our best to create a parking environment that residents can use and be satisfied with by further expanding public parking lots in Jung-gu."
