[시사뉴스 정문균 기자] 부산대학교(총장 차정인)는 부산대 공과대학(학장 최재원)이 UNIST 공과대학(학장 김성엽), 한국반도체디스플레이기술학회(회장 박재근·한양대 교수)과 함께 ‘반도체 분야 산업 발전 및 전문인력 양성’을 위한 업무 협약식을 27일 오전 부산대 제10공학관 산업CEO강의실에서 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약으로 세 기관은 ▲부산‧울산‧경남 지역 차량용 반도체 산업의 발전 ▲반도체 분야 정부 및 지자체 재정지원사업 추진 ▲반도체 분야 공동 교육과 연구 ▲반도체 분야 인프라 구축 및 활용 등에 상호 협력함으로써 세 기관뿐만 아니라 국가와 지역산업의 발전에 기여하기 위해 힘을 모으기로 했다.
이날 행사에서는 MOU 체결에 앞서 반도체산업 발전전략 워크숍이 개최됐다. 부산시 신창호 디지털경제혁신실 미래산업국장의 축사를 시작으로 한국전기연구원 방욱 전력반도체사업단장의 초청강연과 부산대 반도체 분야 발전전략 발표(이성식 부산대 전자공학과 교수), UNIST 반도체 소재·부품대학원의 비전 소개(정홍식 UNIST 반도체·소재부품대학원장) 순으로 진행됐다.
부산대 공과대학은 반도체 분야 발전전략 발표에서 부산대 반도체 인력양성 전략방향을 차량용반도체 분야로 설정하고 부산시 지역산업과 연계해 추진하겠다는 포부를 밝혔다.
부산시는 2013년부터 반도체 관련 주력분야로 파워반도체를 선정하고, 동남권을 차량용 반도체(파워반도체 포함) 특화지역으로 발전시키기 위해 노력하고 있다. 파워반도체는 차량용반도체의 핵심부품으로 자율주행 전기차 시장 확대에 따라 추후 Level 3 자율주행 전기차의 경우 대당 약 2,000개 이상의 반도체가 소요돼 해마다 시장규모가 크게 성장할 것으로 전망된다.
부산대는 이번 협약을 통해 파워반도체 및 차량에 쓰이는 MCU(Micro Controller Unit) 등에 강점을 갖고 있는 부산대 공과대학과 반도체 소재에 강점을 가진 UNIST 공과대학, 그리고 한국반도체디스플레이기술학회의 정책·기술자문으로 동남권역 반도체산업을 활성화시키고 정부의 반도체 관련 인재 양성 정책에도 적극적으로 대응 및 협력할 것이라고 의지를 다졌다.
[Reporter Chung Moon-kyun] Pusan National University (President Cha Jeong-in) announced on the morning of the 27th that Pusan National University's engineering college (President Choi Jae-won) signed an agreement with UNIST's engineering college (President Kim Sung-yeop) and the Korea Semiconductor Display Technology Association (Chairman Park Jae-geun, Hanyang University).
Under the agreement, the three organizations will work together to contribute to the development of not only the three organizations but also the national and regional industries by cooperating in the development of ▲ development of automotive semiconductor industries in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
At the event, a workshop on strategies for the development of the semiconductor industry was held before the MOU was signed. Starting with a congratulatory speech by Shin Chang-ho, director of the Future Industry Division of the Digital Economy Innovation Office in Busan, Bang Wook, head of the Korea Electrical Research Institute, presented strategies for semiconductor development at Pusan National University (Electronics Engineering Professor, Pusan National University), and introduced the vision of UNIST Semiconductor and Material Parts Graduate School.
Pusan National University College of Technology announced its ambition to set Busan National University's semiconductor manpower training strategy direction as a vehicle semiconductor field and promote it in connection with Busan's local industry.
Since 2013, the Busan Metropolitan Government has selected power semiconductors as its main field related to semiconductors and is striving to develop the southeastern region into a specialized area for automotive semiconductors (including power semiconductors). Power semiconductors are key components of automotive semiconductors, and as the self-driving electric vehicle market expands, the market size of Level 3 self-driving electric vehicles is expected to grow significantly every year as more than 2,000 semiconductors are required.
Through this agreement, Pusan National University of Technology, which has strengths in power semiconductor and micro controller unit (MCU), and UNIST University, which has strengths in semiconductor materials, and Korea Semiconductor Display Technology Association, will actively respond to and cooperate with the government's policies.
